School Kits Project
Each year we put together school kits that are shipped by the Mennonite Central Committee to disadvantaged children
around the world.
Each School Kit Bag includes new items:

-
4 spiral or perforated-page notebooks totalling (500–600 pg)
-
8 unsharpened Pencils
-
1 Ruler (flat, good quality; must indicate 30 cm)
-
12 Coloured Pencils (in packaging)
-
1 large Eraser
-
4 black or blue Ballpoint Pens
-
1 small metal Pencil Sharpener (one or two holes)

At this time, we especially need Pens & Pencils. However, donations of Notebooks, Rulers, Erasers & Coloured Pencils are always welcome. Because of the cost of the metal pencil sharpeners, we are planning to purchase them in bulk.

The big stores often put school supplies on for a good price in August, so if you are able to pick some up, we appreciate any donations of school supplies. You can be reimbursed for any school kit supplies shopping you do for us, if you submit your receipts to Summerland United.

All Financial Donations Welcome!
It costs approximately $20 to provide supplies for one school bag. If you’d like to make a contribution, you can leave a cheque at the Church Office to Summerland United Church noted for “School Kit Project”, or donate online at the link above. You will receive a charitable receipt for Income Tax purposes.
